HWB freefall for a thousand!

Paul Charman of accountants and business advisory firm HWB is sky high after bravely taking part in a tandem freefall from 13,000ft – to raise over £1,000 for the Hampshire Autistic Society.

Paul, a member of the audit and accounts team of the Southampton-based firm put aside his fear of heights and lined up with 18 other jumpers on the day to subject himself to the 55-second freefall before coasting back to earth by parachute for a very personal reason – his own nephew is affected by autism.

The money raised from his airborne adventure will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of 14 residencies that offer round-the-clock care, adult day care services and domiciliary and outreach support to directly help over 100 people affected by autism.

Kerry James, events and volunteer fundraiser of the Hampshire Autistic Society, commented: “The money Paul raised will go towards all of the services we offer in Hampshire and we are very grateful for his contribution. We all think Paul was very brave, as he was the last one out of the plane it had crept up an extra 3,000ft on top of what he was expecting!”

The Hampshire Autistic Society actively helps people from the age of four who suffer from the lifelong disability. They have the only autism-specific school in Hampshire.
