Innovative programme launched for chairs of smaller charities

Chair and vice-chairs of smaller charities may be able to benefit from a new lottery-funded programme launched by the Association of Chairs (AoC).

The Beacon programme is aimed at Chairs and Vice Chairs of charities and non-profit organisations in England with an annual income of under £1 million. The initiative provides a platform for chairs to meet, learn and exchange with peers who face similar challenges.

The programme includes workshops in locations across England, including London, Taunton and Brighton, and there are also a number of interactive and downloadable webinars.

Michaela Johns, HWB’s charity specialist, says: “Chairing can be a challenging and sometimes lonely task, so I welcome this programme that encourages networking and the exchange of ideas to aid the leadership process.”
