HWB seminar shines spotlight on key updates for charities

A breakfast seminar giving important updates for the charity sector will be held by leading independent accountancy firm HWB.

Michaela Johns, a Director at HWB who heads the firm’s charity specialism, will be leading the annual briefing event, held on 14 June at Chilworth Manor, in Southampton. HWB’s Annual Charities Breakfast Update will cover the latest developments from the Charity Commission and topics will include governance, VAT, accounting and general sector news.

Charity decision-makers across the South are invited to the event, which is one of a series of informative seminars being hosted by HWB in 2018.

Michaela said: “We are delighted to be holding our annual charity breakfast briefing and it promises to be a great event. The charity sector in the South has always been strong and innovative, but it is also facing a number of challenges this year and beyond.

“This seminar will aim to give charities all the information and advice they need on the most important issues facing the sector. The seminar provides a great opportunity to discuss these topics in a relaxed setting.”

HWB has a strong track record in the not-for-profit sector and the Chandlers Ford-based practice was recently appointed as auditors and advisers to the Oakhaven Hospice Trust, in the New Forest.

The seminar takes place from 8am to 10am on Thursday 14 June. A light breakfast and refreshments are provided. For more details and to book a place, contact Vicky Holman at marketing@hwb-accountants.com
